Student Clinic

Clinical training at the Bloom Institute

The Bloom Herbal Practitioner Training includes 350 hours of supervised clinical practice, which is one of the pre-requisites for registration with provincial Herbalist Associations.  In their first year the students observe a Registered Herbal Practitioner (RHP) perform consultations with clients. In the second and third years the students conduct the consultations while under supervision by a RHP. There will be 3-12 students in the clinic room observing appointments.

There are three RHP’s conducting consultations – Savayda Jarone, Maryna Cassar, Daniel Wiseman, and Benna Keoghoe.

Bloom currently offers 3-4 student clinic days per month, from 1-6 p.m. Watch for clinic updates on facebook and follow this link for easy online booking:

A student clinic session is $25+HST, this is a great saving considering a private appointment with an RHP costs between $70-120. Herbal remedies cost approximately $15-65 per month.

A student clinic session lasts 60-90 minutes. The Herbal Practitioner will conduct a detailed case history, including information on your diet, lifestyle, medication and supplement use. Physical examinations may be performed.

An assessment of your health is made and herbal remedies will be prepared at the end of each session. A detailed outline of herbal, dietary and other recommendations will be sent to you.

A follow-up consultation is usually scheduled for two to four weeks after the initial visit and others will follow at suitable intervals to monitor your healing process.
